My friend told me about this cool walking trail that is near by us that leads down to the bottom of the sound. Out in the water there is an old shipwreck! Jake and I went down there two sundays ago to check it out and had a very enjoyable time. There were big trees that were changing into many pretty fall colors and leaves all over the trail. Near the end of the trail was a sign that explained where the ship came from and why it is out there in the water. Jake knows the story better since he read the whole thing while I was wandering around snapping pictures but what I understand is that it was originally tied up in the Port of Olymipa and some Sea Scouts were going to renovate it but the ship ended up getting blown away in a storm one night and ended up in the bottom of the Sound and that is where it has stayed.
When we got down to the water, it was high tide and we weren't able to get around some trees to get closer to the ship but we did get to see the pier where they used to load ships full of weapons and ammunition during WWII! We'll have to get back there soon when it's low tide and show you guys pictures of the ship! Here's some pictures that I took during our outing. Enjoy!
